mustapha akrim

Mustapha’s artwork is rewriting Article 13 of the Moroccan constitution in concrete (All Citizens Have equal rights of Education and Employment). The work is a critical and political measurement of the problem of social, economic and political problems of the possibility of finding a job and deteriorating education system. Because the state strategy for education is a strategy that produces a large group of unemployed people each year. This is a contradiction between constitutional law and social reality, and between the strategy of education and the labour market, because the laws do not ensure quality education and equal employment opportunities.

Mustapha’s installations question the nature of work and the difference between construction and creating art in light of society’s state of constant change. He is part of a generation of artists that are developing a new language with which to redefine the basis of expression in the visual arts in Morocco. The artistic practice of critical dimension , the concept is based on political social problem and the degradation educational system, because the state education has been produced a great number of unemployed each year.
