Event Synopsis

BBC Radio 6Music DJ Gilles Peterson was asked to support WEYA as an ambassador because of his well-established global reputation as a champion of new artists of promise and flair. His reputation in the UK and beyond is unparalleled.

He has selected a number of acts from around the world to perform live alongside one of his
Worldwide DJ sets. These include Ayanna Witter-Johnson, Sulk Station, Flavio Renegado, Chiguito Y Sus Timberos, Soul Buggin and Metske.

The venue for the party is a new Nottingham icon of imagination and possibility. A national heritage site, Barton’s is an old bus station recently reinvented as a quality music & cultural venue. Imagine thousands of artists and non-artists speaking 100 languages and dancing to live music selected by Gilles who will also DJ. It’s a one-off and it’s happening.
