BRICE ROMUALD MBASSE
Country: Cameroon
Be Game, “If I am a player on this scene then I must be game; I am not to get into the game but be game which implies I have to be ready and always on my feet to play. I don't play soccer, basketball, volley or hand ball but I am a word for the game, I am a strength to the game and I must keep it game to play my part. We play to be happy , to feel victorious ,to make others feel fine and to change the situation for the better. And though we either win or lose, recognition of defeat and preparation for the next game is enough to keep the energy and motivation for change and not to be the loser .Our words ,skills ,talents ,support ,protection ,security and determination play the game; if I am a player on the scene ,then I must be game.”
Poetry to Brice Romauld Mbasse is therapeutic and also serve as a means of communication. He began writing poems at the age of 11 as he says it was his easiest form of expression. Later on, he started experimenting with photography. His poetry which conveys imagery that enables the blind to see whereas, his photography has an emphasis on emotions. Brice uses pictures to express what he doesn't have enough words to describe, for which he uses the term “emography”, and words to construct images so that even blind people can see. He does this by using his intuition or infantile language to make children understand and make adults go back to a child-like state, as he often believes only kids are adult enough to understand some things. Brice often says “we adults are kids who think they know while kids are adult who know they think.”
