The Royal Centre
The Royal Concert Hall's superb acoustics and modern architectural design attract internationally renowned orchestras, the highest quality ballet, opera and theatre touring companies. This is in addtion to West End musicals, the latest stand-up comedy, rock and pop plus a wide range of community projects. In 1982 The Royal Concert Hall opened with a gala concert starring Elton John.
The Hall has a 2,499 seat auditorium on three levels, plus foyer bars, buffet, conference suites and backstage accommodation for over 200 production and performance personel. Boasting not only world-class acoustic design, the Hall also has a 400-ton suspended ceiling and a 35-ton movable acoustic canopy above the stage. The Royal Concert Hall is home to one of the largest electronic organs in the world.
