Slovenia: Slovenian Young Artists

Slovenian Young Artists is a project run by the SKUC Association, which provides opportunities for Young Slovenian artists.

The project enables Young artists to participate in international events and thus offers them the chance to present and perform their artwork in front of an international audience. The artists exhibit and perform under the label Slevenski mladi umetniki / Slovenian Young Artists.

The project has grown out of the 25 year long participation of Slovenia in the Bienial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (BJCEM). Among others, the artists participating in the Biennial include Marjetica Potrc, Tobias Putrih, Alen Ozbolt, Ales Debeljak, Miha Strukeli, Ema Kugler and many other acclaimed artists.

As part of European Capital of Culture Maribor 2012, the project will present the winner of the 2012 open competition, who will take part in World Event Young Artists in Nottingham.
