Theresa Caruana: Nemi Anywhere

Thursday 13th September 2012 - 10:00 - 18:00
Highfields Park

Nemi Anywhere is a multi-media public art trail by artist Theresa Caruana that transforms the lake and woodland of Highfields Park into an outdoor gallery.

Inspired by Nottingham City Museums and Galleries collection of ancient Roman treasures from the healing Sanctuary of Diana Nemorensis, Caruana employs sculpture, video and mobile phones to reinterpret the two thousand year old terracotta votives made as offerings to the enigmatic ‘Goddess of the Wood’.

This first public exhibition, part of Caruana’s Leonardo Fellowship at Nottingham University’s Digital Humanities Centre, culminates in ‘The Treasures of Nemi’ exhibition at Nottingham Castle in June 2013.
